The author is proud to provide his historical short film Hongi's Hikoi: A Trio of Travellers which he filmed and produced as part of the Hongi's Hikoi series of bicentennial commemorative events in June-July 2022, to the public.

This short film (18 mins duration) focuses on the 1820 journey to England, by Hongi Hika, Waikato, and CMS Missionary Thomas Kendall. Whilst there, they were feted by British High Society, assisted Professor Samuel Lee in compiling an English-Māori dictionary at Cambridge University, were introduced to the Peerage in the House of Lords, and were granted an audience with King George IV.

He hopes that this serves as a quality educational resource for schools across Aotearoa New Zealand, as well as provide uri and whanaunga (descendants and relations) of these three men with an account that does justice to their tupuna (ancestors) and their (purakau) stories.
