"Hoki atu koe ki o maunga kia purea koe e nga hau a Tawhirimatea"

It was fantastic to return to a number of my turangawaewae, to seek support from my hapu and to replenish the ihi and wehi for all of the mahi that lays ahead over the coming 18 months. Spending time with our kaumatua was again a taonga that will be cherished, matua Moka and whaea Hinerangi you are our rock and leaders that we should aspire to be like.

We would like to thank Hone Sadler (Auckland University), Chanel Clarke (Auckland Museum), Allie Fry and Georgia Kerby (Kiwi North Museum), Caitlin Timmer-Arends and Mori Rapana (Waitangi Treaty Grounds), Kipa Munro (Rewa's Village), Terry Smith, and Hinerangi Himiona for their wonderful manaakitanga (hospitality) during our trip.
