Purakau

Purakau (traditional Maori storytelling) is used in a number of ways, and is a fundamental methodology for distributing knowledge, values, protocols and world views.

At Purakau Productions we bring history to life, by investigating our topics comprehensively; using a number of different research methodologies (academic, oral-history, personal interviews, on-site visits and re-enactments).

We then present our research findings in a number of formats such as: academic journal articles, historical novels, bilingual children's books, short films, documentaries, commemorative events and workshops, and there are plans to complete a doctoral thesis in the near future.
